My upper education began at Golden West College in Huntington Beach, CA where my focus was on business and general education. I then transferred to study accountancy at California State University at Long Beach. While growing up I was employed by my family's business, R & J Sheet Metal, Inc. now located in Fountain Valley, CA. The firm is a union architectural sheet metal construction sub-contractor that deals with commercial projects and public works projects. My family provided me with wonderful experience while growing up working in the office. My assigned tasks ranged from making copies & sending faxes to bookkeeping for the construction projects using the GAAP percentage -of-completion method, handling releases, and assisting with negotiating contracts.
Later I contracted out to numerous large corporations on a temporary basis in order to gain experience within different industries. The latter portion of my experience prior to becoming self-employed I worked on several projects in Los Angeles relating to the entertainment industry while contracted out to a small CPA firm. I started my own home-based practice to provide low-cost expert accounting services to individuals and small businesses that are in need but cannot afford the inflated fees charged by CPA firms or retail tax outlets. I am dedicated to helping people for the lowest fees possible.
I am a member in good standing with the American Institute of Prof. Bookkeepers, the QuickBooks ProAdvisor Program, and certified to prepare taxes in the State of California through the California Tax Education Council, or CTEC. Along with certifications, I have over fifteen years of accounting experience and carry the necessary bond to prepare taxes in California.
